...Lips like sugar, sugar kisses; lips like sugar, sugar kisses. She'll be my mirror...

Glomping, if you didn't already know it, refers to the running-jumping-tackling sort of hug. A hug where ballistics and momentum should be taken into account; usually the lighter person tackles the more solidly built person, so as not to knock over furniture, and it helps to know if the receiver is receptive before beginning. Offworld Designs has a "Glomp Me!" t-shirt, which inspired me to get this ribbon made in 2004. I didn't make a plain one, I went straight to the fancy variety, because I figured it would be a hit and I'd be reordering it.
"Silly Ribbon" is, of course, the quintessential self-referential post-modern silly ribbon. I had them printed up in 2004. At Noreascon 4, I gave these to Harold Stein in the Art Show to hand out; he's working art show staff at
laconiv so I may do that again.

"Immortalized in Song" was a brilliant idea that Greg Barrett had, as a companion to "Tuckerized." I'm not enough of a filker to hand these out, so I'm letting them lapse. I'd had some plain ones made, and these fancy ones were printed in 2004. If anyone is interested in ordering these for their own use, I'd be happy to facilitate that. I'm also seriously thinking about mailing my leftover "Tuckerized" ribbons to Bob Tucker to dispense.
"Vanilla Pride" was my successor in 2004 to "Vanilla is still a flavor," which
esprix suggested. Some people like Vanilla flavor items more than they like, say, Chocolate; other people have "plain vanilla" ordinary lives, and don't mind if the world knows it. Both kinds of people enjoy this ribbon.

"2nd Generation Fan" and "3rd Generation Fan" started out as ordinary stock type ribbons; when I ran out of 2nd Generation Fan in 2004, I had the fancy one made up, and when I reordered the 3rd Generation Fans in 2005 I switched to the fancy version. I still have the plain "4th Generation Fan" ribbons because those don't really move as fast. I brought them with me to Noreascon 4, and provided some to the Children's Programming check-in desk; the kids appreciated getting a ribbon that their parents weren't entitled to.
I made a goof when I put in my last order; I'd intended for 2nd Generation Fan and 3rd Generation Fan to use different color combinations. But I wrote up my order incorrectly, and it was executed faithfully, and so my current stock of these two ribbons are the same color of foil printing. I'm looking forward to using up one or the other so I can make them different...
I have 4th Generation Fan, as I mentioned; "5th Generation Fan" has been requested, but I haven't met more than one or two people who would qualify.
I myself am a third generation fan; while my father took the bus from his house in Brooklyn to go the World Science Fiction Convention that was held in loose conjunction with the World's Fair (he was 11 and didn't blip anyone's radar, so his name isn't in the books), and he once had lunch with John W. Campbell; his father read and collected Edgar Rice Burroughs and H.G. Wells. So you might say I come by it naturally.
Typefaces for all of these: Clarendon Condensed, Clarendon Bold, or Clarendon Extended.
