...Having been some days in preparation, a splendid time is guaranteed for all...
CathyLASFS Aftermeetings part 257 (13/14-Jul-2006); Family and Friends (14/15-Jul-2006); and Sunday Brunch at Taco Rosa (16-Jul-2006) photos are now online. They're from the first week of ownership for my new camera. Click on the picture of [info]nitroace to see the LASFS/Coral ones.

Today G. and I spent half the day studying our technical manuals. Then I got an e-mail messages about a panic in Tech Support and Sales. I'm not entirely sure everyone knows how to configure the dip switches, so I'll be talking to Training after this is all over. I might also be making a field trip to Northern California. I have to be up there next weekend for AODSF, but I don't think I can swing a combined trip; one's in San Francisco, the other in Sacramento, and I'm driving [info]library_lynn to the airport on Monday.

Correction to previous post about Conestoga and the books I bought on Sunday: The Four Redheads of the Apocalypse is by Linda Donahue, Rhonda Eudaly, Julia Mandala, and Dusty Rainbolt, three of whom I've seen before. (More about Conestoga real soon now.)

Ribbon story part 24: Some more ribbons ordered for [info]laconiv.

Death will not release you/LASFS
Arlene decided to order the fancy "Death will not release you" [info]lasfs ribbons after all. They'll make their debut at L.A.con IV.

Typefaces: American Text and Bankers Gothic Medium.

I (heart) Robots
Jerome ordered some "I (heart) Robots" ribbons; I believe it has something to do with the robots exhibit for L.A.con IV.

Typefaces: Bankers Gothic Medium, and Holiday Pi for the heart.

Chaos rules! Fnord
He also asked for these "Chaos Rules" ribbons, which were designed by Steve Jackson.

Typefaces: Uncertain, the art came directly from Steve Jackson.

WSFS Business Meeting Fandom
[info]kevin_standlee wanted "WSFS Business Meeting Fandom" ribbons. (Do you have to ask?)

Typefaces: That font [info]inter_action used on everything, Clarendon Condensed, and Clarendon Bold.
EDIT: CRMackintosh, acto Kevin.

  • Alternate Surreality
  • The Wrong People
Finally, [info]gvdub wanted some plain "Alternate Surreality" and "The Wrong People" ribbons. Some people are worried about "the wrong people" coming to conventions; if you spot one of them at L.A.con IV, George can give them an identifying ribbon.

The "font that Interaction used on everything" is called CRMackintosh, and it is of course inspired by the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

It was fun to be photographed and glad to meet you! Even if I did get a Cheesecake ribbon! lol. My husband, Christopher Fulbright, was amused. :) Hope you had a good time. You should head down here to Dallas to FenCon or ConDFW!

I had a good time, yes.

The only convention I've attended in Texas was Armadillocon, when they invited me as Fan Guest of Honor. That's when I first learned about Fencon, they were having a party to introduce Fencon.

Not sure when I'll be out that way again...

Well, if you're ever down here in Texas, FenCon and ConDFW are great cons. I'm a guest writer every year. :) http://www.angelinehawkes.com as well as my husband. Many of the same fans were in attendance at Conestoga. lol.

I'll echo the "come to the DFW area when you can" comment! It's getting too hard to get back to Calif. anymore since the folks left.

You still have a package of photos I sent you a year or two ago. Need them back, please. I'll scan them to a CD and send to you, if you want.
