Ribbon story part 29. One more post before I go to bed. These are all ribbons that were produced for laconiv -- hand-set, with the rocket/starburst logo to the left of the plain letters.

An interesting thing about this past Worldcon, there seemed to be several separate Tech teams. John Pomeranz ordered the AV Club ribbons for his crew, the east coast tech fans. There was another crew that got the Tech Crew ribbons which came out of the official ribbon budget. nitroace ordered the Can't See Me! and Good Techies Wear Black. Cathy was in charge of the convention center meeting room that all of the medium-sized events (opening and closing ceremonies, and so forth) that weren't over in the Arena.

So there was a big meeting room with tech, and the enormous Arena which needed tech equipment as well. There was some concern expressed (before the convention where I could hear it) about having to relocate a monstrous amount of tech equipment from the convention center into the Arena before the Masquerade, and then back out as quickly as possible after the Hugos so we wouldn't have to pay for another day in the Arena. In case it came to a matter of shanghaiing a dozen or twenty warm bodies to help with shifting it all, I made sure that there would be ribbons to thank that special crew with: Tech Transfer. I don't know if they ever got used.

USHER doesn't really go with the Tech ribbons, but they were needed for the events in the Arena (Masquerade and Hugos).
