... to stone. (Yes I'm turning to stone 'cause you ain't comin' home, why you ain't comin' home)...

Ribbon story part 32. Here are a bunch of plain ribbons, most of which were printed with the L.A.con IV rocket/starburst logo.

  • bright & well-read
  • Dry Snacks
  • Costumer
  • Prop Master
  • www.badastronomy.com

There were some official silly ribbons that came out of Executive Committee meetings, or so I'm told. The bright & well-read ribbons stemmed from a letter that was received, talking about "bright and well-read" fans who have a particular opinion (and therefore, if you disagree, presumably you're neither bright nor well-read), while Dry Snacks describes the tear-and-pour foods allowed to be served in the Con Suite. Lots of things count as a "dry snack" if they're not actually soggy...

Costumer and Prop Master were quasi-official ribbons that Jerome Scott ordered for people bringing items for various exhibits. These four titles all used the rocket/starburst logo.

Phil Plait ordered plain www.badastronomy.com ribbons, and I ordered www.laconiv.org ribbons. I had them for the people who helped us with our online presence, including here on LJ. I regret not catching up with [info]lauriemann during the con to give her one, as she was a big help on the [info]laconiv LiveJournal.

(Incidentally, I've been updating my Ribbon Gallery as I go along in this series.)

Send me a PM on exactly what it takes to get ribbons done. I have an idea for one. It will help a charity that at this point is very important to me. Thanks!

I'll post it here, in case anyone else wants to know.

Here's what you have to figure out.
What do you want them to say?
Do you just want plain text, or is there some art or logo that's critical?
How many do you want? (If you're ordering through me, at least 40.)

Having figured that out, if you want them from me they're 25 cents each plus a $10 setup charge. Or you can order them online from a variety of places. I recently posted a list of 4 companies on [info]baycon.

If you want them from me, I need you to paypal me the money to my personal e-mail address. If you don't care what color they are, I'll pick a color combination for you.

If you don't want them right away, you should probably sign up for my mailing list. Send e-mail to ribbons-subscribe@lists.bostonbaden.com and whenever I have a new order going in, you'll hear about it.

Very reasonable....gonna want 'em for A-LA and Loscon. I'd get 'em earlier but none of the other cons I go to this year are ribbon-oriented. So yeah, probably will be getting them done later this year. Thanks, Chaz.

Take care,
Michelle
