There sure is a lot of work to do when I get home rotating the ones that are oriented wrong! There are basically two ways I collect photos:
- Slurp them directly onto the computer's hard disk, so I know they're safe and my camera's empty again.
- Get them onto the computer, take a look at them, turn the ones that need to be turned, and type in captions. I do this by temporarily renaming the files - example, if the filename when I saved it to my hard disk was tulsa001.jpg, I might rename it to tulsa001_A_penguin_on_the_corner.jpg; the caption info will be stripped back out later, after I upload the photos but before I unveil them.
Work went better today. The backwards-compatible self-reflashing logic works for everything that used to work in our products, so that's a step forward. I'm happy with the baby tseps Kurt and I are taking; I'll finish Practical Crypto on the plane home, and talk to Kurt when I get in. I'm thinking that I want to be on the ground longer than one week this time, so I might return to Tulsa about the 9th of June or so. Since library_lynn will be driving me to the office that day, I'll ask her opinion.
